Emilien Guesnard

Based in the Lyon countryside, Émilien Guesnard has been passionate about light since his childhood. In fact, light has always been a form of expression which today he incorporates into his work as an artist and lighting designer This former concert venue lighting director has been creating more personal installations for public spaces since 2019 to provoke questions about our changing world. At exhibitions, concerts and festivals, he shapes this intangible matter, no longer as an accessory but in the starring role. Émilien Guesnard’s work was part of the festival lineup in 2019 (Order200) and 2021 (Octo).

Octo

Scattered across the black, reflective surface of an octagon, a set of lamps arranged in a circle light up in a hypnotic loop. The fine line of a laser then disrupts the curve of the lamps.
