In a nutshell

Accroche
What if we questioned our own duality, between the image we project to others and our deeper selves? At times tender, at others turbulent and fiery, the lights of Insight stir up our very beings.

What do we choose to show to others? And what drives us, in the depths of our inner selves?Sometimes it’s perfect harmony... and sometimes utter chaos! Each of us has felt it. Johan Corrèze explores this duality through the form of a cube – a deliberately simple geometrical shape, revealing and then concealing its “inside”. Light is choreographed alternately between ten LED bars placed around the outside and thirty suspended bulbs inside the metal cube. In the end, do we really need to choose between the “in” and the “out”? A thought to linger on, during a pause between Terreaux and République, to the music of Romain Preuss, who once again joins Johan Corrèze after their collaboration on Point Zéro for the 2021 Festival of Lights.

Interesting fact:
Recycling is a key aspect of the Insight project: the cube’s base was originally part of the work Point Zéro (2021 Festival of Lights) and the light sources used – bulbs and LED bars – will be reused in future installations or as part of the lighting design for musical performances.
