Contenu

Born in Taiwan in 1990, Shih-Yen Huang has been living and working in France since 2013. After training in visual arts, specialising in oil painting, she studied animation at the EnsAD school of decorative arts in Paris. Her approach combines illustration, painting, and transforming space, with a visual style that plays heavily on the use of metaphor. She experiments with animated shorts and video mapping, creating connections between images and architecture. Her film La Confiture de papillons [Butterfly jam] (2021) won awards at the Annecy and Zagreb festivals. After numerous collaborations with France Télévisions and Arte, she has developed her approach through international residencies. In 2025, she explored the use of immersive techniques at Rencontres Audiovisuelles in Lille and created mappings in France and Guatemala.
