Like an immense, glittering canopy, PAVILLON is a conical-shaped structure adorned with a mesh of light-emitting cords, hovering – so it seems – in zero gravity over Place Antonin Poncet. The installation comes to life at regular intervals, revealing an inviting synchronised light and music system. With its point-to-point wiring, the mesh flickers above the heads of the audience to the rhythm of the lyric composition by the electronic music duo Yes Sœur. The frame (under which spectators are free to wander) is illuminated, generating circular or elliptical movements. Caught in the meshes of this virtual net, the strobe lights give the illusion of ensnaring us in a symphony of hypnotic cords.
