Born in Paris in 1969, Mourka is an artist and scenographer who studied at Bordeaux Fine Arts School. She initially worked as a graphic artist before turning her hand to artwork for public spaces, where she creates light shows, night walks, and installations and performances for cities and festivals. With an approach that lies somewhere between visual arts, landscaping, and performance art, she likes to combine light, movement, and artistic disciplines by working with musicians, dancers, and actors. Taking inspiration from local tales, traditions, and history, she creates ephemeral, surreal, poetic experiences that encourage the viewer to see their surroundings in a different light. Through her installations, she seeks to bring her dreamlike vision of the world to life and to transform each space into a place of wonder.
