A long transparent shipping container which you can walk around and observe from all angles: this is both the form and the substance of ALCOVE LTD. by Encor Studio. The Swiss designers use changing lights, shapes and materials to explore the concept of isolation and changing spaces. The 6-metre-long container has been repurposed to house light tubes and white smoke to bring its interior to life before our eyes. Liquid crystal film is used to transform the glass walls inviting us to enjoy an immersive experience where mirroring effects blur the lines. Facing this immobile container, almost communicating with it, our perception of the environment steps outside the box.
