In a nutshell

Accroche
Faces, voices and billion-year old living creatures interact. Now we are connected with these fascinating, real-life organisms. Have you ever heard of blobs?

This projection creates a bridge between the infinitely big and the infinitely small. On the smallest end of the scale lies the blob, a single-cell living being. Neither plants nor animals, neither male nor female, blobs reproduce by liberating spores and show amazing adaptability skills.

On the biggest end of the scale lies time immemorial as the slimy blob first appeared millions of years ago. Peggy Hugon has placed us in the middle of these two extremes. The artist takes faces photographed before the Festival of Lights and gets them to communicate with blobs which she grew, inspected and photographed.

It is a curious mix of lyricism, life sciences and AI. She shows us proof of the adaptability of blobs - an impressive feat. Distorted images, calm sounds or electro beats, carefully chosen words and an ode to nature: it is time we widened our definition of what constitutes intelligent life.
