Because Le Cat has chosen to make the park his home, it is not surprising he has ended up in the spotlight. Philippe Geluck’s cartoon cat is a rather curious creature, known for his cheerful nature, deadpan sense of humour and very personal take on current affairs. Monumental sculptures of Le Cat are on display in the park during part of the day. When night falls, several of them light up to join in the Festival fun.

Before becoming a painter and sculptor, Philippe Geluck was an actor, TV and radio show host and, of course, illustrator. His career has been marked by his incisive sense of humour. He has just released a new album L’origine du Chat, published by Casterman, another hilarious addition to a prolific collection.
