La roseraie aux oiseaux

In the Parc de la Tête d’or, Mourka has created a light painting where nature seems to come to life as night falls. Colourful birds rise up above the flowerbeds, luminous waterlilies float on the canal in the rose garden, while fibre-optic grasses line the water's edge. On the lawns, candle holders made from glass jars decorated with tissue paper glow softly like a hundred night lights, and the fountain is decked out in glittering reflections. The artist plays with the landscaping features of the site to create her scenography, choosing to cover them up or put them in the spotlight. The canal is turned into a river of waterlilies, like an offering to the water. By modifying the existing features with exquisite lighting effects, Mourka celebrates the beauty of the living world and brings a touch of poetry to a domain dominated by LEDs.
