It all started in 2006, when the newly-created Pitaya studio made their debut at the Festival of Lights with a series of thirty lamps displayed in the city centre. Since then, David Lesort and Arnaud Giroud, who trained in metal and wood design, have been creating light installations for public spaces that showcase their combined artistic and technical expertise. Pitaya see themselves as “auteurs”, working on research and experiments involving light and lighting. Their studio has become a laboratory, where concepts and objects are created to convey both stories and the history of places.

Why Pitaya? It’s the name of a brightly coloured, exotic fruit – also called a dragon fruit – renowned for its health benefits!
