An international solidarity NGO recognised to be in the public interest, Électriciens sans frontières works with the most deprived populations to improve their living conditions by action to provide them with access to electricity and water. The transversal nature of electricity allows for action in many areas of human and economic development: food safety and access to water, education, health, hygiene and sanitation, training, and economic development.
The NGO is kept going by over a thousand volunteers from all over France in 14 regional delegations. It also has a team of 10 based in the Paris region. The association had 120 projects under way as at 31 December 2015, in 35 countries, over 80% of them using renewable energy.
Électriciens sans frontières carries out its projects with the beneficiary populations and works as a priority on collective structures to make access to electricity and water a first step towards sustainable development for the most vulnerable.
