Christophe Berthonneau is a world expert in pyrotechnics. In 1992 Christophe joined Groupe F, a multi-disciplinary Arles-based collective that designs and produces assorted shows combining video, pyrotechnics, special effects, dance and street art. Groupe F has been putting on all manner of light displays for over 25 years, inventing new artistic languages by mixing different techniques. The collective has a history of working on big events, including Olympic ceremonies and other official openings such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2017. It has also produced shows everywhere from Auckland to Versailles, from Dubai to the Pont du Gard and from Rio to Guangzhou. In short, Groupe F’s spectacular creations are exported across the globe, large-scale works that encourage a feeling of communion based on a collective illusion.
