As the fifth – and final – season of the hit series launches on 27 November, Stranger Lights – The Final Adventure in Lyon pays tribute to the universe created by the Duffer Brothers. Expect a mysterious ambience, iconic objects from the show and a brooding scenography. Place Sathonay, with its striking statue and somewhat enigmatic setting, offers the perfect backdrop for full immersion.
Hawkins 1983 / Lyon 2025
A portal opening between worlds, an eerie atmosphere and echoes of the 80s… Ring any bells? It certainly will if you’re a fan of the series Stranger Things and the adventures of the residents of the town of Hawkins.
Strange things are happening in Place Sathonay…
The project is led by Stéphane Durand, a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. A painter and set designer for film and theatre, he’s more than equipped for the task and is joined by Richard Fontaine and Nils Rousset, forming a trio named Stranger Crew. A veteran of major urban festivals, Stéphane has already created three installations for the Festival of Lights and has taken part in many international events including the Nuits Blanches in Brussels, the Hansaflux Festival in Tallinn, Geneva Lux and Lausanne en Lumière.
With Stranger Lights, the trio presents a fully immersive installation that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Visitors are invited to wander through a landscape inspired by the series, with retro references and an intriguing sense of suspense. While we await the last chapter of the series, the adventure makes a stop in Lyon. A final journey into the world of Stranger Things, to be experienced together in Place Sathonay!
